Most advice on dashboard design is about charts, colors, and layout. None of that explains why your dashboard goes unused. This video covers the real reason, and what to build instead.
On most Business Intelligence projects, the team goes straight from a business request to a finished dashboard. The data is correct, the visuals are clean, it loads fast, and people still go back to the same Excel exports as before. That is not a skills problem. It is a process problem, and it starts even before the first chart is designed.
In this video, Feliks explains Hope Analytics, the habit of building first and hoping the result turns out to be useful. It covers the three questions good dashboard design should begin with: what decision the dashboard supports, who makes that decision, and what they should be able to do after looking at it. He also then maps the full lifecycle of a BI use case and shows why most teams finish only a small part of it.
Finally, the video introduces DECIDE, a six-step framework (Discover, Engage, Clarify, Illustrate, Develop, Embed) that takes a use case from the first business question through to people actually using it to make decisions. If your dashboards keep going unused, this is the structure that has been missing.
