— ABOUT MULTIBASE —
One question since 1991:
Why isn't this data driving decisions?
I founded MultiBase in 1991. Back then, “Business Intelligence” wasn’t even a term yet. But the problem was already there.
Companies had data. Good data. Financial data, operational data, customer data. What they didn’t have was a way to turn that data into the decisions that actually move a business forward.
I spent the first decade building reporting systems. I was good at it. But I kept running into the same pattern: we’d deliver the system, the client would use it for three months, and then it would gather dust. The reports were technically correct. They just didn’t change how anyone made decisions.
That pattern – data without decisions – became the problem I built my career around solving.
After 400+ companies and 1.500+ projects across every industry in the German-speaking mid-market, I stopped treating it as a technical challenge. It’s not. It never was.
BI fails when it starts with data. It works when it starts with the decisions that matter to the business.
That insight became DECIDE, the six-step method we use on every engagement. Not a theory. A system refined across three decades of real projects with real CFOs in real mid-market companies.
Today, MultiBase is the firm built around that principle. We don’t start with your data. We start with your decisions. Everything we build follows from that.
— CONTINUITY & TRUST —
Founded in 1991. Still founder-led.
35
years
400+
companies
1.500+
projects
35 years is a long time. Long enough to see BI platforms come and go. Long enough to watch companies make the same six mistakes with their data, over and over. Long enough to know what actually works.
MultiBase is not a startup discovering BI. We’ve been in this space since before the tools existed. When the technology caught up to our methodology, we didn’t get faster. We got more precise.
The Team
Our consultants are senior. Trained in DECIDE. Experienced across manufacturing, financial services, retail, automotive, and professional services. Every engagement is led by someone who has done this before, not someone learning on your project.
We don’t scale by adding junior bodies. We scale by applying a proven method with experienced people. That’s a deliberate choice. It’s why we deliver in weeks what other firms estimate in months.
The next generation is already in the business. That’s not a slogan. It’s a statement about how we think about the future. MultiBase was built to last, and to keep delivering for the companies that rely on us.
— THE DIFFERENCE —
We don't sell tools.
We don't sell reports.
Every BI consultancy sells technology. We sell decisions. On every engagement, the first question is: Which decisions are costing you the most? Then we build what answers them. Nothing more. Nothing less.
The result: your team gets intelligence they actually use. Not dashboards that look impressive in the first demo and gather dust by month three. Not 40-slide board packs rebuilt from scratch every month. Answers. To the questions your business is actually asking.
D
STEP 01
Discover
Identify where better intelligence will create the most business impact. Start with value, not tools.
E
STEP 02
Engage
Understand the real people, roles, and situations where decisions happen. Build for actual humans.
C
STEP 03
Clarify
Translate human understanding into precise decision questions and signals. This is where most BI projects fail.
I
STEP 04
Illustrate
Design the decision story before writing a line of code. Wireframes and mockups everyone can see and critique.
D
STEP 05
Develop
Build the data models, pipelines, dashboards, BI chatbots, and AI agents. Technology enters here, not at the beginning.
E
STEP 06
Embed
Integrate intelligence into meetings, workflows, and daily behavior. Even the best dashboards fail if not embedded into daily routines.
We call the method DECIDE. Six steps. Starts with the decisions that matter. Ends with embedding those decisions into how your organisation operates, daily, weekly, monthly.
Every step in DECIDE exists because we saw what happens when it is skipped. We documented the six most common mistakes companies make with Business Intelligence projects. They all share one root cause: starting with data instead of decisions.
— THE GAMEPLAN SESSION —
Your dashboards and reports are showing you what happened. They are not showing you where the profit is. That is the problem. And it is solvable.
